Company: Metro Commercial Interiors
Name of person: Conor Morris
Position: Project Manager
Why I got into this industry: I entered the interior construction industry as a Project Manager because I am a very practical minded person and enjoy solving problems. The industry itself is constantly growing and offers great career progression, alongside the added bonus of working alongside my mates everyday to ensure our company’s projects are completed to the highest quality for our clients.
What I love about interior construction: I enjoy the challenge of interior construction as it involves balancing aspects of design and construction whilst simultaneously co-ordinating a wide range of skilled contractors to ensure the project is achieved to the agreed requirements.
Where I see myself in the future within this industry sector: Looking ahead, I would like to become a senior project manager and take on more complex interior construction projects and continue developing my skill set as both technology and the industry as a whole continues to evolve.
What was the most interesting project I have worked on so far: For me, a real perk of interior construction is seeing a project through from the beginning drawings to the finished end result. A personal standout project was constructing a laboratory to meet the aesthetic and technical specifications as set by MPI. This involved refining our building methods and materials to meet higher lab grade standards without comprising the tight timeframe required.
